Good editing and graphics for the title scrolls in the beginning. One or two excellent shots by Amal as a camera man. Nice back ground score by Gopi Sunder. Atlast Hummer… There ends the positive parts of the sky hyped Sagar Alias Jacky. Nothing else.
A complete let down by director Amal and writer S N Swamy. and 100% irresponsible approach by Mohanlal. He could have worked atleast for reducing the weight when working for such a big film. He looked better in Red Chillees.
The film starts no where and ends nowhere. The script is a big ZERO. So nothing to mention about the story line. I think the name ” S N Swamy” is just used for titles. dialogs are poorly written. Amal Neerad should understand that taking slow motions and having enough rain and umbrellas didn’t create a cinema. But one shot stands out, a shot in the night while villains chase Bhavana. Brilliant lighting and camera work there. Actor Sampath had done a good job.
Action scenes (just gun shot scenes) were taken without any logic. The shooter who can kill Jacky’s friend from 2 km away cannot shoot straight into Jacky from closer dist. Jacky can shoot villains from open position(without cover) but villains with cover cannot aim atleast single bullet at open Jacky… pathetic direction from a man who learned cinema from RGV.
Then romance… similar situation like “Irupatham Nootandu”, but the makers forgot Lal’s age today. The love song was completely unnecessary. A matured romantic relation is given for Manoj K Jayan (Shobhana) but it was a teenage love for aged Jacky.
As a whole, SAJ is another attempt by today’s malayalam film makers who believe all the viewers are idiots. Our cinema is not going to survive until they change this attitude.

SAJ is a mega flop film. It cannot be compared nowhere near to BIG B. laal’s appearance is very ugly and in some scenes he looks like an elephant. Story is very poor as a usual recent laal films. Laal has tried hard imitating mamooty’s style in Big B, but poor guy failed to do that.
Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded ,which is the 21st century version of eighties superhit movie Irupatham Nootandu release last week.The film released in 102 theatres and run more than 500 shows,which is an all time record.Also it breaks the initial collection record of 20-20.
An underworld don who operates internationally, Sagar Alias Jacky had to deal with the likes of Naina (Suman) and Goa based Rozario brothers who want to do away with Sagar.But each time Sagar with his fearlessness and brilliance in plotting, outplays them. The film starts off very interestingly when Indhu(Shobhana), the daughter of the state chief minister (Nedumudi Venu) calls Sagar to save her husband Manu (Manoj K Jayan) from the clutches of Rozario brothers.
Sagar gets into action and releases him with little fisticuffs. This mission lands him into further troubles, which lead to a chain of gang war, deceit and shooting .To engage the more time of the movie , arrives the heroine Aarathy Menon (Bhavana), a savvy channel reporter, who starts to report on Sagar but predictably falls for his gamut of presentations as a guardian angel. Undoubtedly, the movie is the most slick and stylishly made one which seldom tries to cling on to a plot. Often we have pointless and constant changes of direction to the story, to set the stage for potentially entertaining or nerve-wracking set pieces that rarely show up. And with plenty of men with differing shades of villainy, this dark thriller fails to create characters that have enough roots for any morals.
Mohanlal who is in almost every frame after his introduction, manages to salvage the film by a considerable extent, even though his character is too unidimensional, offering no complex scenes for the versatile actor to cherish.
With veteran S N Swamy’s screenplay and dialogues that fails to live up to the best of the visuals, the movie often looks like an overcooked meal ” - which give the star’s fans space for wolf-whistles for a punch line or a meticulously conceived entry shots at regular intervals. And in fact, there is little beyond that.
Most others in the cast have delivered brilliant performances. The name of Sampath who appears as Rozario definitely needs a special mention. Amal Neerad has also brought in the best work from his technicians including the editor Vivek Harsha and art and costume departments. There is hardly any frame in the film that is not color corrected and toned.
Amal as a cinematographer has also played his part to make the movie better, with his brilliant visual aesthetics. He seems to have a special penchant for wide and low angles and hardly lit interiors, and loud and contrasting BG scores (that is evident from his debut film Big B).
Gopi Sundar has worked hard on the rerecording and his songs too suit the films moods, but the Lal - Bhavana song comes up as a speed breaker.Even though the movie designed in the assembly line of stylized gangster movies of Bollywood, lacks a consistent flow in narratives and is a little slimmer in content, Amal Neerad definitely needs to be appreciated for trying some thing of this sort of visual splendour for the Kerala Audiences. Considering the quality of movies churned out in Mollywood these days,”Sagar Alias Jacky, Reloaded ”, must be definitely promoted for the quality of making, rather than for its thematic content.
Conclusion is that SAJ Reloaded is that it is the most malayalam stylish film ever made.But it have no story.It will be a sure hit movie.Already the film gets 1.33 distributor share in four days.

A hyped star film will get the initial. But this trend is not going to continue, if the films coming with hype is craps like this.

Mohanlal is an expired actor who is very good at giving mega flops recently (past 2-3 yrs), when compared to mamooty. Mohanlaal can no more dream of fooling the audience by his ugly appearance and dialogues like sawaari giri giri, nee kutti aane and many other Shi*ts. He should look for some grandpa roles , if he really wants to survive in the industry. He should move away and give chances to the upcoming talents like prithiviraj, jaisurya, narain n lot many others.
